2023 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship draw

The draw for the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship was made and Iran’s national volleyball team recognized its preliminary-round opponents

The 22nd Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship will be held in Tehran from August 19 to 26 with the participation of 18 teams hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran

The draw for this tournament was held today (Thursday, March 18) and Iran’s national volleyball team announced its preliminary round opponents

Based on this, Iran’s volleyball men were grouped with Hong Kong and Iraq teams in the first group in the preliminary stage.

The grouping of the preliminary stage of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship 2023 is as follows:

Group A: Iran, Hong Kong, and Iraq

Group B: Japan, Uzbekistan, and Thailand

Group C: China, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia

Group D: Chinese Taipei, Bahrain, and Mongolia

Group F: Qatar, India, and Afghanistan

Group F: Pakistan, South Korea, and Bangladesh

Iran’s national volleyball team, along with the teams of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, are resting from the other five groups on the first day of this competition

At the end of the group stage, the first and second teams of each group (12 teams in total) will advance to the playoff stage, and the top teams will face the second teams of each group by drawing lots

It should be noted that according to the formula of the competition, teams A and B will advance to the semi-finals if they win in the play-off stage, and the other two semi-final teams will be determined by holding two more matches between the winning teams of the knockout stage
