26th Championship Begins with Victory for Kazakhstan’s Representative
The 2024 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship kicked off with a victory for Pavlodar Club, marking them as the first winner of this tournament.
According to the communications department of the Volleyball Federation, the 26th Asian Men’s Club Volleyball championship began today (Sunday, September 8) at 11 AM with a match between Sporting Club (Kuwait) and Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan) at the 6,000-seat Shahediyeh Hall in Yazd.
In a match lasting 145 minutes, the Kazakh representative could beat their Kuwaiti opponents with a score of 3-1, earning three points and placing them at the top of their group until the next matches are held.
In this encounter, the players of coach Taner Atik from Sporting Club faced a close contest in the first set, which was interrupted twice due to power outages, ultimately losing 26-28 to the Kazakh team. They similarly lost the second set 25-22.
However, in the third set, the Kuwaiti team took control of the game and secured a victory with a score of 25-23.
In a tense and crucial fourth set, the Kazakh players emerged victorious again, winning 25-23 against Sporting Club and marking their first victory in this tournament.
The match was attended by nearly 100 male and female spectators.
