Shahdab Yazd Advances Unbeaten to the Next Round
Yazd, Iran – The Shahdab Yazd volleyball team decisively defeated the Kuwaiti representative in their third match of the Asian Men’s Club Championship, advancing to the next round without a loss.
According to the Volleyball Federation’s Communications Department, the third day of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship continued today (Tuesday, September 10) with four matches at the 6,000-seat Shahdab Yazd Hall.
Shahdab Yazd (Iran) and Sporting Club (Kuwait) faced off at 5 PM in the third match of the day, with the Yazd representative winning 3-0.
Shahdab Yazd won the match with scores of 25-22, 25-11, and 25-20, advancing to the next round as the first team with 9 points and an unbeaten record.
In the first set, Shahdab’s lineup was completely different from previous games, allowing other players to rest for future matches. The performance of Shahdab’s young lineup showed their full readiness and excellence, ultimately winning the first set 25-22.
In the second set, Shahdab’s players, fully prepared and motivated, faced their opponent with flawless serves and good receptions, winning 25-11.
The dominance of Mohammad-Rad’s team continued in the third set, although the scores were sometimes tied. However, Shahdab’s players’ alertness in defense and good receptions prevented the Kuwaitis from scoring, and the third set ended 25-20 in favor of Shahdab Yazd.
It is worth noting that Shahdab Yazd is the first unbeaten team with 9 points to advance to the next round.
The starting lineup for Shahdab in the match against Kuwait included Ilshan Davoodi Pour, Mohsen Delavari, Alireza Mosleh Abadi, Ali Osman Faryad, Shahrouz Homayounfar, Erfan Norouzi, and Ali Asghar Mirhosseini.
The third match of the third day was officiated by Fahd Mohammed Al-Awadi from Qatar and Akhmetov Aidos from Kazakhstan as the first and second referees, respectively.
Shahdab, the host, faced their Kuwaiti opponent in a packed 6,000-seat Shahdab Yazd Hall, filled with spectators of all ages and genders, with many standing due to the hall’s full capacity.
With this victory, Shahdab Yazd will face Al-Gas Al-Janoob (Iraq), who is fourth in the opposite group, after a day’s rest in the next round.
