Iran’s men have advanced to the finals for the seventh time
Iran’s national volleyball team has advanced to the finals of the Asian Men’s Championship for the seventh time after defeating China in the semi-finals. They will be facing Japan in the final match.
Today (Friday, August 25th), the national volleyball teams of Iran and China faced off in the second semi-final match of the Asian men’s championship. The game took place at 19:15 at Ghadir Hall in Urmia.
Behrouz Ataei’s team, Iran’s national volleyball team, secured a spot in the finals of the 22nd Cup after defeating teams from Hong Kong, Iraq, and Pakistan before ultimately beating China 3-0 in their latest match.
In the 22nd Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, Iran’s national team secured a victory over China with scores of 25-20, 25-23, and 25-23. As a result, they have earned the opportunity to face Japan in the tournament’s final match.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s national volleyball team is the current champion of this competition, having won four gold medals (in 2011, 2013, 2019, and 2021), two runner-up titles (in 2009 and 2015), and a bronze medal in 2003.
In this match, Iran’s national volleyball team wore white uniforms and played cohesively to reach the finals against their opponents, the Chinese team.
Six thousand Urmia fans closely watched the match, with Nuzhan from Kazakhstan and Ali Mehdi from Bahrain serving as judges.
The national teams of Iran and Japan will face each other from 18:00 tomorrow (Saturday, 25 August) in Ghadir Hall to determine the champion. Qatar and China will meet to win the bronze medal in this competition at 15:00.
