A Golden Opportunity to Showcase Yazd’s Potential
President of Iran Volleyball Federation: “I’m delighted that through the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship, many countries around the world will get to know the city of Yazd. This tournament is a golden opportunity to showcase the potential of this global city.”
According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, Seyed Milad Taghavi, President of the Volleyball Federation, stated on the eve of the 26th edition of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship: “Fortunately, we have been able to witness the hosting of this competition period of the Asian Championship by the culturally rich and historic province of Yazd. I am very pleased that through this tournament, many countries around the world will get to know the city of Yazd, and this tournament is a golden opportunity to showcase the potential of this global city.”
Referring to his visits to the competition venues, he added: “Today, we had the opportunity to visit the competition venues alongside provincial and international officials, and I am pleased that we have been able to fulfill the promise of providing the necessary infrastructure with the efforts of the Governor of Yazd, the management of the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of the province, and the management of the Shahdab Cultural and Sports Club.”
The President of the Volleyball Federation emphasized: “Despite the initial assessments that hosting would not be suitable and it was not expected that we could host these competitions well, today, according to the representative of the Asian Confederation, the best conditions for hosting have been provided.”
Regarding the Iranian teams participating in this tournament, he explained: “Two Iranian teams are participating in this tournament, and it seems that we will witness very good and high-quality matches. I also hope that the people of Yazd, regardless of their problems, will enjoy the excitement of watching these matches by attending the competition venues, and this excitement will lead to better hosting in various cities.”
Taghavi continued: “The province of Yazd is famous for its good hosting, and today we witnessed that all the infrastructure is in place for us to have a good hosting in the 26th edition of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.”
He emphasized that one of the most important aspects of this tournament is the change in the Federation’s approach to hosting in different cities: “We need to understand why we give hosting to different provinces. Certainly, the recognition of the provinces and the transmission of cultural messages are among the reasons for hosting. Of course, the infrastructure process in the field of buildings and human resources, which is one of the important factors, is very important to us, and these issues need to be developed.”
The President of the Volleyball Federation concluded by highlighting the most important actions taken in this competition: “For the first time, we will fully use the local referees of Yazd province. Some may say this is a good opportunity, and some may see it as a threat, but as a small member of the Volleyball Federation, I trust the human resources in different parts of the country and provinces, and I am confident they will perform their responsibilities in the best possible way.”
