Iran’s national volleyball team will face Pakistan for the 19th time, and it has lost only once in its history and won the other 17 matches on the field.
The 22nd edition of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship hosted by Urmia started on Saturday, August 28, and the Iranian team defeated the Hong Kong and Iraqi teams to enter the elimination stage.
Meanwhile, Iran’s national volleyball team will play its third match in the 2023 Asian Men’s Championship against Pakistan today (Wednesday, September 1st) at 19:15. He has experienced only one defeat and won 17 other matches.
Interestingly, Iran’s only defeat against Pakistan dates back to the Asian Championship in 1991 in Australia, which was the weakest appearance of the national team, resulting in a 3-2. Apart from this defeat, the national team has never lost against Pakistan, and since 2009, it has yet to give a single set to Pakistan.
9 of the 18 meetings between the two teams were in the Asian Championship, and the last three matches of the two teams in these competitions ended 3-0. Statistically, Iran is entirely superior to the opponent.
Pakistan national volleyball team won three to zero against Bangladesh national team in its first match in this tournament and lost three to two results against the Korean national team in the second match. He won the elimination first.
Iran’s national volleyball team will advance directly to the semi-final stage if it wins against Pakistan with the hosting and runner-up status of the previous round.
Before the start of the 22nd Cup, the two teams faced each other in a preparatory match in Urmia, and the result was 3-1 in favor of the national team.
