Asian Men’s Championship Volleyball 2023/Iran and China are the tallest teams
China’s national volleyball team is the tallest in the Asian men’s volleyball championship in Urmia, with an average height of 200 cm, and Iran’s team is in second place with 197 cm.
According to the public relations report of the Volleyball Federation, the Asian Men’s Championship, with the participation of 17 teams, began on Saturday, August 28, and will continue for eight days in Urmia.
Iran’s national volleyball team, which is in the same group as Hong Kong and Iraq in the group stage of this competition, played against Hong Kong in its first match on Sunday, August 29, and won 3-0.
According to the statistical data of Bulletin No. 1 of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, the Chinese and Iranian national volleyball teams are the tallest in this competition, with an average of 200 and 197 cm, respectively.
Eight players of the Chinese team are over 200 cm tall, and the Iranian team has six players (Seyd Mohammad Mousavi, Amin Ismailnejad, Saber Kazemi, Javad Karimi, Mohammad Walizadeh, and Mobin Nasri) with a height of over 200 cm.
After these two teams, Qatar ranks third with an average height of 195 cm. On the other hand, Xinyu Zhang, the number 26 player in China with 212 cm, is the tallest in this competition.
Also, the number 16 player of Qatar named Ibrahim Mohammad with 206 cm and Saber Kazemi from Iran, Murad Khan from Pakistan, and Ron Tong Miao with 205 cm are in the following ranks.
In the Iranian team, after Kazemi, two players, Javad Karimi, and Mohammad Valizadeh, are in the next rank with 204 cm.
Also, the Hong Kong team, with an average height of 187 cm, is called the shortest team in this competition, followed by the Chinese Taipei and Bahrain teams.
A total of 17 teams participating in this competition have registered the names of 342 players and members of the technical staff, which includes 232 players and 110 members of the technical staff of the teams.
One of the interesting points of this list is the registration of 14 players and 14 technical staff members in the Japanese national volleyball team, the largest volleyball convoy based in Urmia, with 28 people. This statistic shows that the contribution of each player in Japan is a member of the technical staff.
On the other hand, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh teams have participated in these competitions with three technical staff, which is the lowest number.
According to the regulations of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, each team is allowed to register 14 players, and the groups of China, Iran, Qatar, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Japan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, and South Korea have used their full quota.
The teams of Pakistan and Afghanistan have 13 players, and India and Uzbekistan also participated in this tournament with 12 players.
