After his team’s match against the Indian national team, Mohammad Sabir Nouri said: We were inexperienced in this match and did not perform to the best of our abilities. If we had held two preparatory games before the start of the tournament, it would have had a very positive effect on our performance.

He added: No one can predict the champion of the competition, but Iran and Japan will be the competition’s finalists.

In the end, the head coach of the Afghanistan national team stated: “Since the first day we were in Iran and the city of Urmia, we have not felt any foreignness because the spectators strongly supported the Afghanistan team, and it was as if we were competing in our own country.”

With the victory against Afghanistan, the Indian national volleyball team qualified for the elimination stage of the 22nd  Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship as the second team in Group E. Afghanistan will go from the elimination stage for the 13th to 17th places. Qatar took the lead in this group with two wins and six points.

After his team’s match against India, Mohammad Subavon Wardak said: “We lost the game, but we played good volleyball.” In the fourth set, we could have finished the game in our favor, but a few mistakes made us fall behind, and finally, the Indian team won.

The Afghanistan national volleyball team captain expressed his appreciation for Iran’s fantastic hosting and said: Iran’s hosting is excellent, and the Urmia spectators are lovely.
