Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship Coordination Meeting Held
A coordination meeting of the Control and Organizing Committee for the 2024 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship was held today in Yazd.
According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, the 26th Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship will commence tomorrow (Sunday, September 9) in Yazd.
The coordination meeting took place tonight (Saturday, September 8) at the Moshir Al-Mamalek Hotel in Yazd, attended by Seyed Milad Taghavi, President of the Volleyball Federation, and Mehran Fatemi, Governor of Yazd and Head of the Organizing Committee for the Championship.
Also, Yermek Syrlybayev (Kazakhstan), Head of the Control Committee and Technical Committee, Masoud Yazdanpanah (Iran), a member of the Technical Committee, Mohammad Shahmiri (Iran), Head of the Referees Committee, Adel Hussein Al-Harabi (Kuwait), a member of the Referees Committee, Gholamreza Norouzi (Iran), Head of the Medical Committee, Morteza Afjehee (Iran), Head of V.I.S, and Hamid Ahmadinia (Iran), Media Officer for the Championship.
Mehran Fatemi, the Governor of Yazd, welcomed the guests and participating teams, stating: “We are very pleased to host this tournament. I would like to thank the officials of the Volleyball Federation and provincial colleagues, especially the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Yazd Province and Shahdab Yazd.”
Seyed Milad Taghavi, President of the Volleyball Federation, expressed his happiness at hosting the guests. He thanked the Governor of Yazd and their colleagues for organizing the tournament. “I extend a warm welcome to Yermek Syrlybayev and am delighted to host the best teams in Asia for this event,” he said.
He emphasized, “I hope we have great competitions ahead and that the people of Yazd are pleased with this hosting. One of the main objectives of the federation is to develop such hosting opportunities. This event would not have been possible without everyone’s collaborative efforts and the full support of the Governor.”
Taghavi added, “I hope we witness one of the best Asian events at the closing ceremony. I believe a miracle has occurred in organizing this tournament, and I want to thank everyone involved.”
Yermek also expressed his joy at returning to Iran again. “I have attended various competitions in Urmia and Tehran, and this year I am here for the important Asian club championship in Yazd. I thank the Governor and the Volleyball Federation for organizing this significant tournament for the Asian Volleyball Confederation.”
He noted that two teams from this competition will qualify for the World Club Championships, which is very important. “There are high-level players in the participating teams that truly elevate the competition. The members of the Control Committee operate like a family to ensure that the tournament is held at the highest level.”
Other members of the Control Committee also shared their views during this meeting, emphasizing that ensuring competition standards and hosting Yazd appropriately were key points.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Taghavi introduced representatives from the Organizing Committee, including Amir Hossein Monazami (Secretary General of the Federation), Nader Ansari, Mehdi Abarashi (Head of the Medical Committee), Dehghanpour (Head of the Referees Committee in Yazd Province), Mohammad Hossein Parsaeian (Deputy Governor), Dr. Sharafat (Head of the Yazd Volleyball Association and Shahdab Club), Haj Hosseini (Director General of Sports and Youth), Sharafat, Mehdi Eslami (Treasurer), Amir TolouKian (Technical Officer), Gerayeli (Financial Manager), Torabi (Head of League Organization), among others.
At the end of the meeting, members of the Control and Organizing Committees signed a commemorative poster for the championship.
