Asian U23 Men’s Championship Logo Launched
The Iran Volleyball Federation has launched the logo of the 2nd Asian Men’s U23 Volleyball Championship, which is due to take place in Ardabil, Iran from May 1 to 9.
The IVF Public Relations Committee designed the logo for use on trophies, flags and medals. It combines elements of Islamic and Iranian architecture with iconography from the sport of volleyball.
The logo includes part of an ancient building in the host city, Ardabil, the entrance of Sheikh Safi-ad-din Is’haq Ardabili’s shrine. A volleyball takes pride of place at the top of the logo.
In Iranian culture, the gold colour symbolises power, evolution, and luxury. It is also commonly used in tiling, drawing, and architecture.
Iran coach Juan Cichello recently spent time evaluating players in the Iranian Premier League, and invited 41 players to a preparatory camp.
A total of 13 teams consisting of Chinese Taipei, China, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malaysia and hosts Iran will participate in the 2nd Asian Men’s U23 Championship from May 1 to 9. The top two teams will represent Asia at the 12-team FIVB Volleyball Men’s U23 World Championship in Cairo, Egypt from August 18 to 26.
