Ataei: Iran is aiming to achieve the championship
During a match at Ghadir Hall, the head coach of Iran’s national volleyball team expressed gratitude towards the Urmia spectators in attendance. He stated that the team’s ultimate objective is to secure the championship title and will strive to achieve this goal. The coach also wanted to dedicate the victory to Iran’s kind and supportive people, particularly those from Urmia in attendance.
After his players defeated China and advanced to the finals of the 22nd Cup, Behrouz Ataei commented on the match, stating that it was a challenging game for both teams. Both teams overcame several tough battles in different stages to reach this point.
Regarding the analysis of the Chinese team, the head coach of the Iranian national volleyball team said: We are the Iranian national team, and we put pressure on the Chinese in such a way that they cannot return to the normal situation, and fortunately, we were ultimately successful in this regard.
Regarding the final match against Japan tomorrow, he stated that it was predicted from the start that Iran and Japan would be the finalists, and both teams made it to the final match despite losing a set. So far, they have executed their plans effectively and achieved success.
Ataei remarked about the Japanese team, stating that they are of exceptional quality. This was evident in their ranking of third place in the League of Nations, alongside top-performing teams like Brazil, Argentina, Italy, and France. This showcases the successful investment that Japan has made in its group, resulting in a genuinely high-quality squad.
He announced that Iran’s objective was to win the championship, and they would try to attain it the following day. This was to honor the good and understanding people of Iran and to do so on their soil.
The national team’s head coach expressed gratitude towards the spectators of his country and the city of Urmia for their unwavering support towards the Iranian team. He acknowledged that their cheers and encouragement played a significant role in the team’s success thus far and hopes that they will continue to show their support in the upcoming finals. This comes after comments made by Japanese head coach Blaine regarding the spectators.
Tomorrow (Saturday, August 26th), the national teams of Iran and Japan will face off at Ghadir Hall at 6:00 PM to decide the champion. Meanwhile, Qatar and China will compete for the bronze medal in the same competition at 3:00 PM.
