AVC MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 / Ataei: We came to Urmia to win the championship

The head coach of Iran’s national volleyball team said: We came to Urmia to win the championship and we will advance game by game to reach our goal.

Behrooz Ataei said at the end of the Iranian volleyball team’s match against Hong Kong, which ended with the victory of the white jersey-worn players of our country: I thank the people of Urmia for supporting the national team today and making the atmosphere of the hall terrifying for the opponent. So that they cannot present their game, even though Hong Kong was not a high-level team.

He added: “The start of any tournament is definitely difficult for the teams, but today we did not have a very difficult match because our opponent was not one of the prominent teams in Asia, but in any case, the match against these teams also has its own difficulties and complications.”

In the end, the head coach of the national team, in response to a question about whether he promised a championship or not, stated: We have to go forward game by game to see the conditions. The national team has come to Urmia to win the championship and all our efforts are to make the Iranian people happy, especially the Urmia spectators.
