AVC MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 / Japan ascended as the leader
The Japanese national volleyball team won its second victory in the Asian men’s championship to advance to the next stage with two victories.
The Asian men’s volleyball championship with the participation of 17 teams started yesterday (Saturday, August 19) in Urmia city and continues for 8 days.
In the first match at Ghadir Hall, the teams of Japan and Uzbekistan faced each other from 13:15 and the match ended with a score of 3-0 in favor of Japan.
The Japanese team, which started the game with its bench, managed to win the first set 25-8 by relying on unstoppable services from the very beginning.
Although in the second set, the Uzbekistan team appeared better in receiving than in the first set, it was the Japanese team that won the second set 25-19 in a calculated game.
The bench players of the Japanese team are thirstier than the main players to get a win, they cut off the Uzbek team in the third set, and in a perfectly coordinated game, they won this set 25-13 to achieve their second win with a total of 3-0.
In the first set, the samurai set the record for the lowest number of points lost in a set in this Asian Championship by giving up eight points.
Perhaps one of the main reasons for the loss of the Uzbekistan team was the lack of a thoroughbred Setter in his team, the inconsistency between the setter and the players in this team was quite evident.
As usual, the fans present in the hall cheered both teams to see a good match and beautiful points so that the fighting spirit of the players is not lost.
Abdullah Shah from Pakistan was the first referee of this match and Ebrahim Firouzi was the second referee.
The Japanese team went to the next stage with two consecutive wins, and tomorrow (Monday, August 21), the two teams of Uzbekistan and Thailand will meet to determine the second team that will advance to the next stage of Group B at 13:15 at Ghadir Hall.
