AVC Men’s Volleyball Championship 2023 / China won first 5 set game against Indonesia
The second match of the 22nd Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship was hosted by Urmia, by Shahidan Ahandoost Hall and the Chinese national team defeated Indonesia 3-2.
This competition, which was held with the presence of more than 500 spectators, including women, and the presence of special guests such as the ambassador of China and the ambassador of Indonesia to Iran, Dr. Ebrahimi, the deputy governor of West Azerbaijan, and Dr. Birami, the general director of sports and youth of this province, the Chinese team with the composition of Dongchen Wang, Leiyang Chen, Guanhua Zhang, Ruantong Miao, Bin Wang, Xinpeng Deng, and Yiming Yang as liberos and with the head coach Hou Chundi and the Indonesian team consisting of Hendra Kurniawan, Doni Haryuno, Hernando Zulfi, Farhan Halim, Dio Zulfikri, Agil Angga Anggara, and Fareza Rakha Abhinaya entered the field as a libero and was coached by Jiang Jie.
In this match, the first point of the match was won by the Indonesian team, but then the Chinese team won 4 points in a row. The interesting competition between the two teams was 4-4. After China scored the fifth point, the first video check of the match was requested by Indonesia, which led to China’s sixth point.
In the continuation of the first set, the two teams had a constant battle and in the end, China won 25-22 thanks to its higher experience and was ahead of its South Asian opponent by 1-0.
The second set started with the stunning performance of Indonesia, and this team first won 8-6, 16-15, and finally 25-22, and finally the game was tied 1-1.
But in the third set, the game was completely different than before, and China won by using the high experience of its players and fewer mistakes with a difference of 6 points with a result of 25-19.
In the fourth set, the Chinese faced the strong barrier of Indonesia’s suicide game and, contrary to expectations, lost 28-26 so the fate of the winner of this game was dragged to the fifth set.
In the fifth set, although the Chinese won consecutive points very soon, despite creating a difference of five points, they won their first game with difficulty by handing over the result to the opponent with 15:13 points.
Hamza Hakim Abdul Reza from Iraq and Ken Nakayama from Japan were the referees of this match.
In the continuation of these matches, the Indonesian team will compete against Kazakhstan tomorrow, and the Chinese national team will rest.
