The 22nd Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship will start tomorrow, August 19, and will be held for eight days in Urmia, and Japan is one of the 17 teams participating in this competition.
Philip Blain said at the end of the team’s last practice before the start of the competition: This is the fourth time that I have traveled to Iran and this is the first time that I have come to Urmia and I am happy to host Urmia in this competition because I like to visit different cities in IRAN
Philip Blain added: The conditions of accommodation, training, and hosting of Urmia city are excellent and we are waiting to see the wonderful Urmia spectators in the stadium.
In the end, the head coach of the Japanese national team, in response to the question about the prediction of the matches and the possibility of Japan advancing to the finals and facing the Iranian national team, pointed out: Before reaching the finals, we must think about the group stage and knock out games and we absolutely cannot say that Iran and Japan will reach the finals.
The Japan national volleyball team will face Thailand at 13:15 tomorrow, August 19, in their first match in the AVC Men’s Volleyball Championship 2023.
