Coaches and Players Reflect on Bhayangkara vs Pavlodar
Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi Coach: We Are Happy to Secure Third Place and the Quality of the Asian Club Championship Was Excellent
According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, the ranking and final matches of the 26th Men’s Asian Club Volleyball Championship will be held today (Sunday, September 25).
Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan) and Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia) faced each other at 2 PM in the ranking match. The Indonesian team emerged victorious with a 3-0 win, with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-19, securing third place in the competition.
Radel Alfonso Gonzalez, Head Coach of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia):
“We came to win the championship, but after losing in the semifinals, we secured third place. Of course, we are happy to achieve third place, and the competition was excellent. The two Iranian teams were very good, and we are looking forward to the final today. This is my second year as head coach, and it was very gratifying to work with great players, as it will certainly help my development, and I enjoyed this experience a lot.”
Sergey Gribo, Head Coach of Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan):
“We played good matches in this competition. The level of the competition was good, and the last two matches we had with the representatives from Iran and Indonesia were at the highest level.”
Earvin Ngapeth, Outside Hitter of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia):
“It was a very good tournament with a high level of competition. Unfortunately, in the previous match, we could have reached the final by defeating our opponent, but that didn’t happen, and sometimes results can change. We are happy to have secured third place. I have known this team for ten days, and the atmosphere was very good. I am happy that we achieved third place together. I am very happy to be in Iran, and playing in this atmosphere is fantastic. I am pleased to be back in Iran and thank all the people of Iran. Iranian fans are amazing, and throughout the season, even though I am not in Iran, many people connect with me on social media and show their kindness. I thank them, although sometimes their contact can be overwhelming, but I am happy to receive their kindness. I can’t predict the champion, but Sirjan’s team is physically better, while Shahdab performs better technically. I wish both teams success, but I hope the team of my favorite player, Seyed Mohammad Mousavi, wins. The next Olympics is in four years, and our national team is currently focused on the World Championship.”
Roman Agro, Setter of Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan):
“I am sad that we lost this match, but there is nothing we can do. I congratulate the opponent. They played very well. They have very good players, and I am happy for them. At the beginning of the set, we had problems receiving the balls, which caused us to lose this match.”
