Coaches and Players Reflect on Gas Al Janoob Vs Kam Air
Gas Al-Janoob Coach Reflects on Victory and Previous Loss
The head coach of Gas Al-Janoob (Iraq) congratulated his players on their victory in today’s match but expressed disappointment over their previous loss to Kam Air Afghanistan.
According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, Gas Al-Janoob (Iraq) and Kam Air (Afghanistan), both having faced defeats in the knockout stage, competed against each other at 11 AM today (Friday, September 13). The Iraqi team won decisively, 3-0, and will compete against the winner of the next match for the fifth place tomorrow.
Alaa Khalaf, Head Coach of Gas Al-Janoub (Iraq):
“I congratulate my players on today’s victory, but I am still saddened by our loss to Kam Air Afghanistan in the previous match. Our team showed strong defense and attack today, served well, and overall played a good game to secure the win.”
Hamid Movahedi, Head Coach of Kam Air (Afghanistan):
“We started well in the first set against the Iraqi team and were ahead by a few points, but our opposite hitter was not in good condition. He made several errors in attack, which affected his morale, and we had no substitute for him. This led to a decline in our performance, and we couldn’t play well today. Our players lack the experience of other teams and couldn’t recover mentally. We didn’t perform well in this match and lost. We hope to address the mental and psychological issues and play better in tomorrow’s match.”
Mohammad Ali Anwwer Abdulrasool, Outside Hitter of Gas Al-Janoob (Iraq):
“We played a very good game. Despite losing to Kam Air Afghanistan in the previous match, we managed to address our weaknesses and performed well in this match.”
Montazer Hussain Hafizi, Outside Hitter of Kam Air (Afghanistan):
“We didn’t play well today. Our team lacks experience and hasn’t participated in many international competitions. I hope there will be more investment in Afghan volleyball, and we will strive to perform better in future matches.”
