Coaches and Players Reflect on Indonesia Vs Kuwait
The head coach of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, the Indonesian representative, stated, “In one of the sets, the referees faced some difficulties, but ultimately we were able to secure the win with a solid performance.”
According to the communications department of the Volleyball Federation, the matches on the second day of the 26th Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship began at 11 AM today (Monday, September 9) with a match between Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia) and Sporting Club (Kuwait) at the 6,000-seat Shahediyeh Hall in Yazd. Under the guidance of coach Alfonso Gonzales, the Indonesian team defeated their opponent 3-0, achieving their first victory in this tournament.
Coaches and players from both teams shared their thoughts after the match:
Alfonso Gonzales, Head Coach of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia):
“In every match, we aim to coordinate our team as much as possible. We were able to score well in the sets. In one of the sets, the referees encountered some issues, but in the end, we managed to win with a good performance. Everything is going well in this hosting; however, today’s issues with the referees caused both teams to lose focus for a moment, but overall, everything went smoothly.”
Agil Angga Anggara, Setter of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia):
“Today’s game was very good for me and my teammates. I believe we will perform even better in tomorrow’s match. Our team’s goal is to win the championship. Before coming to Yazd, I had no idea about this city, but everything here is very nice, and I’m happy to be here. There was some lack of coordination among players in the last two matches, but we will definitely resolve this in future games.”
Taner Atik, Head Coach of Sporting Club (Kuwait):
“Honestly, today’s game went as we expected. My team is not physically prepared, and we need to think about the future for the success of this team. For this reason, I rested some players, but those who were on the court gave their best effort.”
Abdullah Mansour, Outside Hitter of Sporting Club (Kuwait):
“Today’s match was very tough. Both teams are strong in this tournament. We are working hard to prepare for future games; however, we had two injuries in the previous match. Nevertheless, we will not stop trying.”
