Coaches and players Reflect on Kazakhstan Vs Afghanistan
The head coach of Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan) stated that Shahdad is the strongest team in this year’s Asian Club Championship, emphasizing their commitment to put forth a strong performance against them in the semifinals.
According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, both Pavlodar Volleyball Club and Kam Air (Afghanistan) entered their quarterfinal match today with one win and three points from the group stage. The Kazakh team secured a decisive 3-0 victory, thus becoming the second team to advance to the semifinals.
Following the match, coaches and players from both teams shared their thoughts:
Gribov Sergei, Head Coach of Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan):
“Afghanistan was not a very strong team in front of us, and we were able to execute our tactics effectively, ultimately leading to our victory. Shahdad is undoubtedly the strongest team in this tournament, and we will do our best to play well against them and come out on top.”
Hamid Movahedi, Head Coach of Kam Air (Afghanistan):
“Our players lack experience and need to participate in international competitions to enhance their skills. The pressure of this match affected the players, preventing them from showcasing their true abilities. However, we have modest expectations as this team is newly formed and we have only trained for about a month before facing our opponents. The level of competition is very high, and I hope we can achieve better results in future tournaments and increase our team’s success.”
Roman Fartov, Captain and Libero of Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan):
“Afghanistan is a good team, but ultimately, it is the team that performs better that wins. We managed to defeat them today. For our upcoming match against Shahdad, our coach has analyzed the opposing team, and I believe we will have a good game and be able to overcome them.”
Lutfullah Azizi, Middle Blocker of Kam Air (Afghanistan):
“Today we faced Kazakhstan, and unfortunately, we lost 3-0, even though we had some control over the game at times. We hope to perform better in our next match. The level of volleyball in Afghanistan is quite high; however, the conditions were not favorable. In limited time, we showcased Afghanistan’s volleyball potential on the Asian stage. This team is full of talent, and with investment, we can reach the highest levels.”
