Coaches and Players Reflect on Qatar Vs Kuwait
Head Coach of Al Rayyan Sports Club (Qatar): This Match Was a Derby Between Arab Teams, Making It Mentally Significant for Us
According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, Al Rayyan Sports Club (Qatar) and Sporting Club (Kuwait), both having lost in the knockout stage, faced each other at 2 PM today (Friday, September 13). The Qatari team defeated their opponent 3-1 and will compete against Gas Al Janoob (Iraq) tomorrow for the fifth place.
Coaches and a Qatari Player shared their thoughts After the Match:
Morad Sennoun, Head Coach of Al Rayyan Sports Club (Qatar):
“From a ranking perspective, this match wasn’t crucial as it was between the fifth to eighth place teams. However, it was a derby between Arab teams, which made it mentally significant for us. Thank God we were able to win.”
Taner Atik, Head Coach of Sporting Club (Kuwait):
“The Kuwaiti players performed well in the first set but declined physically and mentally in the subsequent sets, failing to secure a win. Congratulations to the opposing team.”
Vinisius Marcus, Power Receiver of Al Rayyan Sports Club (Qatar):
“This tournament was held at a high level. Today, we managed to show a better game and won. The hospitality in Yazd was incredible. The people here are very warm-hearted, and we enjoyed the hotel and Iranian food very much.”
None of the players from Sporting Club (Kuwait) were present in the mixed zone.
