Coaches and players Reflect on Shahdab Vs Pavlodar
Following the match against Pavlodar Volleyball Club, Rahman Mohammadirad, head coach of Shahdab Yazd, stated, “After the first set, the experience of our players and the new additions to the lineup changed the result.”
According to the communications department of the Volleyball Federation, Shahdab Yazd (Iran) faced Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan) today (Monday, September 9) at 5 PM in the third match of the second day, where Shahdab triumphed with a score of 3-1.
Coaches and players from both teams shared their insights after the match:
Rahman Mohammadirad, Head Coach of Shahdab Yazd (Iran):
“I congratulate all the fans and players. It was truly a tough match, and the Kazakh team demonstrated great quality. Their number 10 player did not play yesterday but is a key member of their team. In the first set, his strong serves significantly affected our reception. Our analysis indicated that their strength lay in their serving and their weakness was in reception; however, they played the first set without making errors. After that initial set, the experience of Shahdab’s players and the new additions to the lineup turned the tide, and as you saw, we won the fourth set by a considerable margin. The Kazakh team is genuinely dangerous. Yesterday, Osman made a significant impact, and today Farahani and Shahrooz contributed to the team’s success. I am grateful to all the players and management for allowing us flexibility in player selection.”
Girbov Sergei, Head Coach of Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan):
“We won the first set, but due to the strength of the Iranian team, we were unable to secure points in the remaining sets. Our goal is to achieve victory in upcoming competitions, and we will do our utmost.”
Shahrooz Homayounfarmanesh, Power Receiver of Shahdab Yazd (Iran):
“I would like to thank the fans who supported Shahdab. The first set started with pressure from the Kazakh team, and we were taken by surprise. However, with the changes made by the coaching staff, we managed to turn the result in our favor. Our reception struggled a bit in the first set; I was added to the lineup and, with the help of my teammates, we compensated for the lost points. Our goal is to be the champion, and I hope for positive outcomes.”
Roman Egorov, Setter of Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan):
“I thank our fans. There was a great atmosphere in the hall, and I personally enjoyed it. In the first set, our team performed exceptionally well in serving, but from the second set onward, we faced difficulties in reception and could not compete effectively. Two players on our team sustained injuries, and I hope they are not serious.”
