Deputy minister of sports Alinejad visits volleyball federation
TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Mehdi Alinejad met head of Iran Volleyball Federation Mohammadreza Davarzani.
In a meeting held at the Iran volleyball headquarters, Alinejad said that the ministry will support the national volleyball team to shine on the Olympic stage.
“Iran volleyball has grown in recent years. I am sure Iran National Volleyball Team can deliver good results in the upcoming Olympic Games given the fact that the team have a great potential,” Alinejad said.
On Sunday, President of National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Reza Salehi Amiri, had visited the volleyball federation.
Iran debuted in 2016 Olympic Games where the Persians finished in fifth place behind Brazil, Italy, the U.S. and Russia.
In this edition, Iran have been drawn in Pool A along with Japan, Poland, Italy, Canada and Venezuela, while Pool B consists of Brazil, the U.S., Russia, Argentina, France, and Tunisia.
