End of Day Two of the Championship with Victory for Foolad
Foolad Sirjan Iranian Volleyball Team secured a win against the Iraqi representative in the last match of the second day of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.
According to the communications department of the Volleyball Federation, the second day of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship continued today (Monday, September 9) with four matches held at the 6,000-seat Shahediyeh Hall in Yazd.
Foolad Sirjan (Iran) and Gas Aljanoob (Iraq) teams faced off at 8 PM in the last match of the day, where coach Behrouz Ataei’s players defeated their opponents with a score of 3-0.
Foolad triumphed in three consecutive sets, winning 25-20, 25-16, and 25-19, achieving their second victory in the tournament.
The starting lineup for Foolad Sirjan included Ali Ramezani, Ali Hajipour, Mojtaba Mirzajanpour, Amirhossein Esfandiar, Mohammad Valizadeh, Mohammad Mousavi, and Mahdi Marandi. The match lasted for 84 minutes.
In the first set, the Iranian representative showcased a strong performance, winning 25-20. The second set continued with the dominance of Ataei’s players, who displayed excellent coordination to take the set 25-16 against the Iraqi side.
In the third set, Alaa Khalaf’s players briefly took the lead at several points; however, Foolad managed to rally back and maintained a narrow lead of one to two points, ultimately winning the set 25-19.
Akhmetov Aidos from Kazakhstan served as the first referee, and Indra Muflih from Indonesia officiated as the second referee for this match. Approximately 500 spectators attended the event at the 6,000-seat Shahediyeh Hall.
