Euro-Asia Coaches Cooperation Project Postponed due to Covid-19 Restrictions
News from the CEV
Luxembourg, February 15, 2021 – After meeting online with the project experts, coaches, and collaborative partners at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), all parties involved in the historic Euro-Asia Coaches Cooperation Project have decided to postpone the sessions due to take place in Leuven, Belgium and Bangkok, Thailand to later this year due to current COVID-19 restrictions.
Every participant has reported their travel restrictions resulting from the global health crisis and it appears obvious that it would be nearly impossible to organize the programmes onsite as originally planned for March and April.
The European Commission, which is funding the project, has allowed the CEV to suspend the programme from April 1 to October 1, 2021. Therefore, the activities will resume with the first onsite classes in Leuven from October 10 to 16 followed by the second half of the in-person education from November 14 to 21 in Bangkok.
The venues remain the same and the programme’s educational topics as well.
Following the decision, CEV Development Coordinator Katrina Reuter has sent an email to AVC on Monday, expressing thanks to the Asia’s governing body for its cooperation and providing CEV with the travel restrictions information.
More importantly, Katrina has confirmed that the project has been approved to be postponed, and therefore CEV can officially announce the new onsite program dates as follows.
October 10 to October 16, 2021: Leuven, Belgium
– Arrival Day: October 10, 2021
– Monday to Friday: program activities
– Departure Day: October 16, 2021
November 14 to November 21, 2021: Bangkok, Thailand
– Arrival Day: November 14, 2021
– Monday to Saturday: program activities
– Departure Day: November 21, 2021
