Poster
The 22nd Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship will be held from August 28th to September 4th, hosted by the city of Urmia with the participation of 18 teams.
In the design of this poster, the symbol of the phoenix, a mythical and symbolic bird in the history of Iranian civilization, thought, and culture has been used. By combining birds and other creatures and mixing their organs in the history of Iranian thought, literature, and culture, artists have created numerous symbolic concepts that refer to significant social and civil aspirations such as the need to pay attention to social unity, teamwork and unity, and great concepts.
In the history of Iran and even in the Islamic era, in all Iranian arts, the various manifestations and roles of the phoenix have been noticed by artists as an idea, and its use has become the center and manifestation of the national and religious aspirations and ideals of the people of this land. By examining and analyzing the history of Iran’s art and culture, researchers have realized that no meaning and role has attracted the attention and interest of the people as much as the phoenix.
The reputation and semantic credibility of this topic is so high that other civilizations have also benefited from this Iranian meaning in different ways, according to their needs.
Until now, the role of the phoenix has been reprocessed in thousands of possible ways by Iranian artists, in painting, engraving on metal, stone, textile, carpet weaving art, architecture, urban planning, and literature, and anywhere else we can look for roles and symbols related to it. A clear and very familiar example of this role can be found in the emblems and posters of the Fajr Film Festival and in the emblems and volumes of the radio and television festivals and other cases.
Also, Lake Urmia, located in the northwest of Iran, is one of the other important features of the 22nd Asian Cup poster; Based on country divisions, this lake is located between the two provinces of West and East Azerbaijan.
Lake Urmia is the largest inland lake in Iran, whose area in 1377 was about six thousand square kilometers, which ranks as the 25th largest lake in the world in terms of area.
Lake Urmia is the largest internal lake in Iran, the largest Salt Lake in the Middle East, and the sixth-largest saltwater lake in the world. In the past, this lake has been a suitable place for the migration of birds such as flamingos, chickens, and ducks. One of the most important invertebrates in this lake is a type of saltwater shrimp called Artemia.
The main water suppliers of the lake include Zarineh Road, Talcheh Road (Aji Chai), Shahrchai, Zolachai, Simine Road, Lilan Chai, Nazlochai, Baranduzchai, Sufi Chai, Ghale Chai, Almalochai and Skochai, which are from the mountains surrounding the lake (Sablan, Sahand, border mountains of Iran and Turkey) originate.
Characteristics of the logo:
In the design of this logo, the element and role of “wing” has been used, the frequency and composition of the role of the wing in Achaemenid, Parthian, Sasanian, and Islamic era arts is so high that it has become a semantic-visual unifying factor.
The combination of the form of a ball and a bird’s wing, in such a way that the sense and association of moving forward, leadership, acceleration, and speed are formed by mixing them, and all of these, in mixing together, find a progressive and heroic atmosphere has been the attention of the designer.
In the color palette of the logo, the aesthetic expression of Iranian painters has been carefully considered, and the sense of control, movement, and dynamic and uncontrollable activities has been formed from the combination and scattering of cold and warm colors.
At the same time, the necessity of creating an aesthetic expression with new trends in a global and progressive landscape has been given serious attention.
It should be mentioned that the poster of this important volleyball event of the Asian continent was prepared in the communication department of the volleyball federation, designed by Bahram Kalhornia and Siavash Yagoubi, which is available on the website of the volleyball federation through this link in original quality.
