FIVB President Meets Bulgarian Volleyball Federation President Lubomir Ganev
A number of important topics were discussed, including the development of volleyball in Bulgaria and the country’s men’s national team participation at the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2021. Additionally, President Lubo Ganev, who is also the Vice-President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, was pleased to inform the FIVB President about his appointment as the Chef de Mission for Bulgaria’s delegation at the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
Following the meeting, FIVB President Dr Ary S Graça F° said:
“It is always a great pleasure to meet Lubo. He was a great player and now continues to serve volleyball as the President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation. Lubo’s role in the organisation of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2018, which was hosted in both Italy and Bulgaria, was fundamental to the success of the event and I believe his knowledge and expertise will continue to advance the development of volleyball in Bulgaria and around the world.”
Lubo Ganev was part of the Bulgaria men’s national volleyball team from 1985 until 1998, and also competed in two Olympic Games, Seoul 1988 and Atlanta 1996. Ganev also played for many European clubs, including CSKA Sofia where he played for seven years and was five times a champion with the team.
