Foolad Had a Great Day

The head coach of Foolad Sirjan Iranian volleyball team said that Foolad truly deserved to win and had an exceptional day.

According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, Rahman Mohammadi Rad, the head coach of Shahdab Yazd, commented after the final match of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship and securing second place: “We did not play well, and Foolad deserved to win. We had issues with organization and reception, but they had an exceptional day, and with this performance, my team had to lose. It was not the game we expected, and Foolad dictated their power to us in all three sets.”

He continued: “We tried to take more risks with our serves in the third set to affect the opponent’s attacks, and we were somehow successful, but our weakness in side-out caught up with us, and we were not successful in serving. All the opponent’s players were good and influenced us. I have been the coach of Shahdab for five matches, and my work with this team is just beginning. I thanked the players for their efforts. Volleyball and sports have wins and losses. We tried but were not successful, and we apologized to the spectators because it was our duty. For the Asian Club Championship, we had two assist players and tried to build the team in a way that we would also be good in the league. After the departure of two legionnaires, the Shahdab league will start, and we will try to build a more cohesive team for the World Club Championship.”

Mohammadi Rad also explained the injury of the team captain: “Masoud Gholami twisted his ankle during the game. They told us we could use him until the end of the game, but there was no opportunity. I do not confirm the fans’ comments, but they are fans and expected us to win the championship. We tried to respect the guests, but saying they are strangers here is a complete lie. Now the team has lost, and saying these things is not right, but the fans’ behavior is a result of the opponent team’s behavior.”
