We’re Here to Defend the Honor of Iranian Volleyball
According to the Volleyball Federation’s communications department, the 26th Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship will kick off tomorrow (Sunday, September 9) in Yazd, where the city will host some of the biggest stars in world volleyball for eight days. Eight teams will compete for the title.
In their opening match, the host team, Shahdab Yazd, will face an Indonesian representative, a matchup that is already being referred to as an early final in the tournament.
Amir Ghafour, the opposite spiker for Shahdab Yazd, shared his thoughts on the participating teams and the level of competition for this year’s championship. “The games officially start tomorrow. We have a good understanding of the teams and players that are here and those who will join us; relatively strong teams are participating,” he noted.
He added, “The competition will undoubtedly be of a high and acceptable standard.”
Ghafour emphasized the readiness of facilities, stating, “Everything is in place; both the hotel and the venue are of high quality. We hope to use our home advantage to achieve favorable results.”
He expressed a commitment to defending the honor of Iranian volleyball: “We are putting in all our efforts because this is no longer just about club representation; both Shahdab Yazd and Gol Gohar Sirjan are here as representatives of Iran.” In closing, Ghafour urged fans to continue their support: “I ask our supporters to back us as they have so far. The players will certainly give their all to achieve the best possible outcome.”
