“I hope the Iranian teams secure two world championship spots”

The Secretary-General of the Volleyball Federation expressed hope that two Iranian teams will reach the finals of the 2024 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship, thereby securing two spots for Iran in the global competition.

In a statement following the first day of the 26th championship, Amir Hossein Monazami discussed the hosting situation. He noted that despite ongoing inspections of the venues over the past few months, they had recently settled in Yazd and observed that a venue previously facing challenges had been adequately prepared for the event through collaboration with the Yazd Governorate, the province’s Sports and Youth Department, and Shadab Yazd Club. He praised the successful hosting efforts in Yazd.

Regarding the opening day of the competition, he said, “Today marked the opening and first day of matches. The presence of renowned international players has significantly elevated the level of competition. Most importantly, the two spots available for Asian teams to participate in the World Club Championship have added to the significance of these contests.”

Monazami highlighted the performances of Iran’s representatives on the first day, stating, “Fortunately, our teams played exceptionally well against their opponents and achieved victories. We hope both Iranian teams advance to the finals and secure two global spots for Iran.”

He also expressed gratitude to all those involved in organizing the event and acknowledged the media for their crucial role in disseminating information and showcasing Iran’s capabilities.

Monazami emphasized, “This is our first time hosting a World Volleyball event, and everything has proceeded smoothly so far. All relevant organizations have collaborated effectively to ensure a successful hosting experience. I look forward to positive developments in the coming days, and the enthusiastic presence of Yazd’s fans has been a noteworthy aspect of this hosting.”
