Iran blanked Kazakhstan 3-0
Starting off the match with efficiency, Iran stormed to a big lead in the beginning of the first set, Powerful spikes form Iran No.12 Esfandiar and No.1 Rasoul caused Kazakhstan hard to return. Although Kazakhstan No.1 Sulemanov stood out and gained points by points through his driving attacks, Iran soon took over the first set effortlessly 25-18.
Iran further emphasized their defense and attack. Their destructive serves and airtight blocks made it more and more difficult for Kazakhstan to sneak one point. Going down in the first two sets with ease 13-25 and 9-25, Kazakhstan quit the match. Iran emitted up to nine ace serves and scored 11 points from blocks compared to two and four of Kazakhstan. What’s more scary for Kazakhstan was Iran’s forceful and penetrating spikes, which produced 39 points from 57 attempts.
Similar to China, Iran also clinched their consecutive sixth victory and strode into the semi-finals without losing a set.
