AVC Men’s U23 Championship/Iran Outclass Kazakhstan to Face Thailand in Semi-final
Ardabil, Iran, May 7, 2017 – Iran registered the 4th straight-win record of the day by beating Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-14) and moved up to the semifinal to face Thailand that has already brought loss to Pakistan at the 6,000-seater Rezazadeh Indoor Stadium.
The reigning champion Iran troubled Kazakhstan and left them empty-handed by invincible triple attacking line of Taghizadeh, Karimi, and Esmaeilnejad.
The crowed unstoppably applauded Iranian players such that expectations directed Iran to have a straight-set win.
Juan Cichello after the match said: “Kazakhstan is a team with good attacks and blocks as you have seen before. The key element for this win is service and attack. Concerning the next match against Thailand, you all want to hear from me that it is easy but no match is easy especially when Thailand made his way up into the quarterfinal and have shown his capability up to now. We will do our best to qualify for the World Championship in Egypt”.
