Iran volleyball league to resume in late October
TEHRAN – Iran Volleyball Super League will resume on Oct. 28, Shahram Azimi, Director of Competition and Events of Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation, said on Tuesday.
Iran Volleyball Super League was postponed on Oct. 10 due to third wave of COVID-19.
“We canceled the competition in order to cut chain of coronavirus’ spread but the competition will resume on Oct. 28,” Azimi said.
The new season has started on Sept. 9 and Foolad Sirjan sit top of the table at the end of Matchday 7.
The daily death toll from coronavirus infection in Iran has exceeded 200 in recent days, while the total number of cases since the outbreak of the disease in the country has surpassed 490,000.
More than 28,000 COVID-19 patients have died in Iran since February.
