The draw for the Universiade volleyball tournament was held and the Iranian national volleyball team was placed in the second group along with Australia, the Czech Republic, Argentina, and India
From the beginning, Iran did not have the conditions to participate in the Universiade volleyball competitions, but after consultations with the officials of the University Sports Federation, it finally got the quota to participate in these competitions in the last days before the lottery. China is another team that was added to the tournament table along with Iran
The grouping of the world students’ volleyball Universiade is as follows:
Group A: Portugal, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Poland
Group B: Australia, Czech Republic, Argentina, India, and Iran
Group C: Japan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Mexico, and China
Group D: Germany, Italy, Chinese Taipei, and Brazil
The 31st Universiade of World University Games was supposed to be held in 2021, but it was postponed to 2023 due to the spread of Corona
