Iran’s volleyball men were placed in the group of death on the way to Paris

The lottery for the 2024 Paris Olympic volleyball tournament was held and the Iranian national volleyball team was placed in the group of death on the way to Paris

The 33rd Olympic Games will be hosted by Paris in 2024, and indoor volleyball will experience its 16th participation in this important sports event

The World Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has announced the promotion of 24 teams (12 men’s and 12 women’s teams) to the Paris 2024 Olympic indoor volleyball tournament, and as the host, France has won the first quota in each gender group

The other 11 teams in each men’s and women’s division will be determined in two stages, six teams in each division will win the 2024 Olympic quota in the Olympic qualifiers, and the remaining teams will be determined after the 2024 League of Nations qualifying table is determined

Before the draw, the ranking of the 24 participating teams in the men’s group was announced by the World Federation based on the ranking of the teams and the three host countries as follows:

Group 1: Brazil, Japan, and China

Group 2: Poland, Italy, and America

Group 3: Argentina, Slovenia, and Iran

Group 4: Serbia, Cuba, and Netherlands

Group 5: Turkey, Canada, and Ukraine

Group 6: Germany, Mexico, and Tunisia

Group 8: Egypt, Belgium, and Croatia

Group 9: Bulgaria, Finland, and Qatar

The lottery for the Paris 2024 Olympic volleyball tournament was held today (Friday, March 17) and the Iranian national volleyball team will face its opponents in the group of death in Brazil

The teams of Brazil, Italy, Cuba, Ukraine, Germany, Czech Republic, and Qatar will compete with Behrouz Ataei players for two quotas in this group

The 24 teams participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifying volleyball tournament in the men’s group will face each other in the following three groups:

First group: Brazil (host), Italy, Iran, Cuba, Ukraine, Germany, Czech Republic, and Qatar

Second group: Japan (host), America, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, and Finland

Third group: China (host), Poland, Argentina, Netherlands, Canada, Mexico; Belgium and Bulgaria

The Olympic qualifying competitions in the men’s group will be held from September 30 to October 8, 2023

Also, based on the draw, the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifying volleyball matches in the women’s group hosted by China, Japan, and Poland will be held as follows:

First group: China (host), Serbia, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Canada, Czech Republic, Mexico, and Ukraine

Second group: Japan (host), Brazil, Turkey, Belgium, Bulgaria, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Peru

Third group: Poland (host), Italy, USA, Germany, Thailand, Colombia, South Korea, and Slovenia

The women’s Olympic volleyball competition will be held from September 16 to 24

Five more teams will be determined at the end of the 2024 Volleyball Nations League qualifiers based on the classification of the World Volleyball Federation by the FIVB in both women’s and men’s groups. Together with France as the host, they will complete the 24 teams participating in the Paris Olympic Volleyball Tournament
