Iran’s women’s volleyball league kicks off
TEHRAN – The 2020/21 women’s volleyball league began on Thursday in Tehran, capital of Iran.
The Iran women’s volleyball league has started with stringent health protocols due to a coronavirus outbreak in Tehran as the centralized venue.
The league was originally supposed to be held with 14 teams but eight teams announced their readiness for the new season.
Saipa, Zob Ahan, Khojasteh Eslamshahr, Paykan, Sarvghamatan Babol, Setregan Fars, Exxon and Shahrdari Qazvin compete in the 19th edition of the competition.
The teams are drawn in two groups of four teams. Saipa, Shahrdari Qazvin, Exxon and Sarvghamatan Babol are in Pool A and Zob Ahan, Khojasteh Eslamshahr, Paykan and Setaregan Fars are in Pool B.

* Shahrdari Qazvin – Exxon 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-18)
*Saipa – Sarvghamatan Babol 3-1 (25-13, 25-17, 22-25, 25-8)
