Kazemi’s New Request Will Be Reviewed Soon
The President of the Volleyball Federation announced that Saber Kazemi’s new request will be reviewed in an online meeting tomorrow (Sunday, September 8), and the results will be announced.
In a press conference held tonight (Saturday, September 7) at the Moshir Al-Mamalek Hotel in Yazd, Seyed Milad Taghavi, addressing a question about Saber Kazemi and his case, stated, “This is a pertinent question, and all these events are for the happiness of the people. Our efforts aim to alleviate people’s problems. Sports and the national team belong to the people, and nothing is above the national team. The decision regarding Saber was not a pleasant one for the federation, but we had to defend the rights of the people. The era of decision-making by special groups for volleyball is over.”
Emphasizing that the people’s goals are paramount, Taghavi added, “We must not forget the achievements of the players. I have witnessed this player’s efforts for the national team in various arenas. While we are obliged to defend the national team and the people’s rights, we must not forget the efforts of the national players in different fields. If we forget who has worked hard, we will no longer witness these great achievements in volleyball and sports in Iran.”
Taghavi further explained, “Saber Kazemi has requested that part of his contract be allocated to the development of volleyball in underprivileged areas, provided he can secure a club contract this year. The review committee has two perspectives on Kazemi: one believes that the player has realized his mistake and this request is worth considering, while the other believes that strictness should continue to ensure everyone respects the people’s rights in the future.”
He concluded, “Overall, we will have an online meeting about this matter tomorrow, and a new decision will be made.”
