Online Meeting Held to Exchange Views between Vladimir Alkeno & Premier League coaches of Iran
Tehran, Iran, February 07, 2021 – An online meeting held to exchange views between Vladimir Alkeno, the new head coach of the Iranian national volleyball team and the coaches of the Premier League. He made suggestions to the coaches to increase the technical level of the Iranian volleyball players. Along with Alekno, the assistant coach of Iran, Thomas Totolo from Italy was in the meeting.
Dr. Mohammad Reza Davarzani, the President of the Volleyball Federation, delivered the opening speech and then left the meeting to participate in the 37th FIVB World Congress.
The President of the Volleyball Federation stated: “Iranian volleyball has had a difficult year, but the league is underway with its own charm as the model of holding a centralized league is the best method during the outbreak of Covid-19 and this bubble-like format is going to be implemented in FIVB for 2021 VNL as well”.
Peyman Akbari, Firooz Tabeshnejad, Mohammad Reza Tondravan, Azim Jazideh, Arash Sadeghiani, Alireza Toloukian, Behrouz Ataei, Rahman Mohammadi Rad, Ali Moazzen and Farhad Nafarzadeh as the head coaches of the Premier League participated in this meeting.
Amir Khoshkhobar, Jahangir Seyed Abbasi, Saeed Rezaei, Siamak Afroozi, Navid Mashjari, Ali Tajodin, Kambiz Yaghoubi and Massoud Armat were were also present at the meeting.
The head coach of the Iranian national volleyball team said at the beginning of the meeting: “For me, direct communication with Iranian coaches is very important and for this reason, all coaches are welcomed to attend in the national team trainings.”
The discussion was generally centers around the issues that should be considered in the players’ training and the comparison was clearly made between the playing style of world powers and Iran National team in Olympic Games and the like.
The head coach of the Iranian national volleyball team appreciated the presence of the coaches of the Iranian Premier League in this virtual meeting and emphasized: “I will use the experiences I have gained practically in volleyball to increase the level of Iran’s national team to face the volleyball powers of the world”.
He added: “I would like to communicate with all Iranian coaches in this direction, but due to the lack of a common language, this is not possible at the moment. I try to find a way to establish a good relationship with every Iranian coach. The doors of the national volleyball team camp are definitely open to all the coaches of the Premier League”.
Alkeno recommended the coaches working with the young players to train jumping services since any team that does not serve well loses the control of the match.
