Our goal is to be in the finals

The head coach of Iran’s national youth volleyball team said: “Pakistan considers itself a finalist of the Central Asian Nations League by using the hosting privilege, and we hope that the Iranian team will be the finalist of this competition.”

The Central Asian Nations League volleyball tournament will be held from November 24 to 29 with the participation of five teams from Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, hosted by the city of Lahore, Pakistan

The national youth volleyball team of Iran, which is preparing to participate in the 2023 World Championship, will participate in this competition as the representative of our country, and this team will leave at 18:40 today (Tuesday, November 22) through Imam Khomeini Airport

Mohammad Vakili said: Iran was invited to participate in the tournament in the Central Asian region, and Dr. Davrzani help this tournament so that Central Asia can improve technically in volleyball like other Asian regions. He had promised that a team would be sent from Iran that would be of high quality in terms of technical level

He added: “The national youth team was selected because these competitions were not included in the calendar of the clubs, and of course we had training in the form of the Shams team by participating in the first division league. This suggestion was made from the beginning of the league, it was decided that the junior team along with some adults would go to this tournament to be a good help for the Iranian team

This head coach continued: Based on this policy of Shams team federation, in addition to three players Pouria Hossein Khanzadeh, Mehdi Jaloh and Amir Mohammad Golzadeh who play in the teams of Haraz Amol Dairy, Nian Electronics Khorasan and Saipa Tehran, respectively, they will go to this tournament. Jelveh has a history of being in the junior team and has played in the senior team, that’s why he accompanies the team as a captain. Even though Khanzadeh and Golzadeh have joined our team from the youth team, their age is not much different from other players

Expressing his hope that the volleyball matches of the Central Asian Nations League will be held well, he stated: I hope that participating in these matches will be a good experience for the youth so that they will perform well in the World Youth Championship next year. In these tournaments, Iranian players play with teams bigger than themselves, and it is a good experience that they face adult teams outside of our country, so that they can participate in future tournaments with new learning, more self-confidence, and less stress

Vakili said: “Pakistan has prepared itself to participate in the finals by using the hosting privilege. We also hope to reach the finals and play against this team in the finals.” Regardless of the result, I want the players to perform well so that we can be among the top teams in the world junior tournament next year
