Paykan Experiences the First Championship
Tehran, Iran, March 15, 2018 – Tehran Paykan in the first ever experience in women’s super league of Iran snatched the championship in 2017/18 season.
The 16th national women’s premier league started with eight participating teams, one of which withdrew in the succeeding step while some undergone changes in name. Tehran Paykan, Esfahan Zob Ahan, Mazandaran Behnamir, Tehran Representative, Tehran Saloot, Tehran Abnoos, and Tabriz Shahrdari started to compete in 14 round overall.
Tehran Paykan went into 14 matches to take the gold medal with 34 points that was achieved by winning 11 matches. Zob Ahan, the last champion of the super league with a victory less claimed vice-champion.

1.Tehran Paykan: 11 wins, 34 points
2.Esfahan Zob Ahan: 10 wins, 29 points
3.Mazandaran Behnamir: 8 wins, 23 points
4.Tehran Representative: 4 wins, 12 points
5.Tehran Saloot: 3 wins, 10 points
6.Tehran Abnoos: 3 wins, 9 points
7.Tabriz Shahrdari: 1 win, 3 points
The new president of Iran Volleyball federation, Dr. Ziayee is spreading an equal eye over the women’s department with that of men’s one. He attributed the problem of the women’ league to the lack of sponsors in this category and the less number of participating teams accordingly.
