The Asian Beach Volleyball Open Tour will be held from November 7 to 11 and the Asian Men’s Beach Volleyball Championship will be held in Bandar Abbas from November 14 to 18, and eight teams from Iran will participate in these competitions, four teams in the Asian Open Tour and four teams in the championship. Asian men face their opponents

Bahman Salemi along with Alireza Aghajani form one of Iran’s national teams in the Bandar Abbas tournament, which will be present in both tournaments. Salemi said: This is the first time that we have become friends with Aghajani. Aghajani is a young and motivated player, and I hope we can transfer our experiences to the younger ones to have strong support for the Iranian national team

He added: “In the Asian men’s championship, Australia, China, and Thailand are tough opponents for Iran, but the main opponent is Qatar.” A very strong team that plays well. In the Samila tournament that we attended, many teams expressed interest in participating in the Asian Championship and said that they would like to come to Iran. In total, strong teams will be present in these two tournaments

This player also explained about the volleyball federation’s beach court: I am grateful to Dr. Davrzani, the head of the federation, and the officials of the beach committee for providing this good court. This field can be used to hold the world and international competitions. Even now, its launch is promising and young people can have more facilities so that beach volleyball can progress day by day

He continued: “The Volleyball Federation supports beach volleyball much better than in the past, and the fact that we are hosting two important Asian tournaments is promising for Iranian volleyball because young people will be more attracted to this field by watching more of these tournaments

Emphasizing the empathy among the players of the national beach volleyball team, Salemi stated: In the twelve years that I have been active in the field of this sport, the players have never been so empathetic. I hope we get an acceptable result in these competitions

The player of the national beach team further pointed out the necessity of the participation of the national beach teams of Iran in various tours and tournaments of the world and said: the presence of national players in these tournaments, in addition to gaining experience, increases the team and individual points of the players in the world rankings. As you know, the score of the players is very important for getting a quota for the world championships and Olympic selection

Salemi, who, along with 9 other players, has started their preparatory camps at the beach volleyball federation camp in Tehran since the beginning of October, thanked his wife and said at the end: My children are twins and they are two, and a half years old. They are getting more playful every day and I have to thank my wife for her efforts. He is working and besides being a teacher, he has to take care of our children
