This summer, the world’s top women’s and men’s beach volleyball pairs will go head-to-head in Rome for the chance of being crowned world champions at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships 2022 from 7-19 June.
96 teams will participate in the 2022 World Beach Volleyball Championship, with 48 teams from each men’s and women’s gender. The teams are selected in such a way that the top 23 teams in the World rankings will go directly to the world championships. 3 teams will be able to participate in the tournament through the World Federation Wildcard quota, 2 teams from the host country and 20 teams through the continental quota (5 continents).
With 12 championships, Brazil is the proudest country in the past. The Iranian men’s beach volleyball team reached the 17th joint position in the last round of the tournament, which was hosted by Hamburg in 2019. Iran also participated in the tournament in 2017, but was eliminated in the group stage and was ranked 30th.
The World Championship was postponed due to the corona outbreak in 2021, and the 2022 tournament is the third time that the Iranian national beach volleyball team will have a chance to win a quota.
