Runner-up of Iran’s juniors among adults in Central Asia
Iran’s national junior volleyball team won the runner-up title of the League of Nations in the competition with the seniors of the Central Asian region
The final match of the Central Asia League of Nations League was held today (Tuesday, November 29) in Lahore, Pakistan
Iran’s junior national team and Pakistan’s senior national team faced each other in this match, and Mohammad Vakili’s players defeated the hosts 3-1 and settled for the runner-up position of this competition
The Pakistanis, who lost 25-23 to Iran’s juniors in the third set of this match, won the first, second and fourth sets with scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-20, respectively, to win the championship of this competition
Iran’s national youth volleyball team, which was sent to these competitions with three assistants, held five matches in Lahore to get a good opportunity to prepare for the 2023 World Championships
Mahdi Jelveh (captain), Taha Behbodnia, Imran Gogjili, Amir Ali Dolati, Amir Mohammad Golzadeh, Pouria Hossein Khanzadeh, Omid Saghali, Mohammad Reza Al Jalil, Seyed Matin Hosseini, Farbod Haghshenas, Arian Mahmoudinejad, Seyed Morteza Tabatabai, Abolfazl Mahdian and Sam Moradi 14 players Iran was in these competitions
Amir Khoshkhabar as supervisor, Mohammad Vakili (head coach), Hessamuddin Nayij and Aman Nazarzadgholi Doji (assistant coaches), Mohammad Moein Vakili (analyzer) and Mohammad Mahdi Azarmehri (therapist) accompanied the national team in these competitions
In the classification match of this tournament, the teams of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka faced each other and the players of Ali Pourarooji in the Bangladesh team defeated their opponents 3-2 and took the third place
Sri Lanka won the third and fourth sets by identical scores of 25-22, but lost the first, second and fifth sets with scores of 25-18, 33-31 and 16-14 to finish fourth in the tournament
Afghanistan’s national volleyball team, which did not advance from the preliminary stage and ended its work in this competition yesterday, was ranked fifth in this competition with four defeats and no points
Iran’s national youth volleyball team will leave Lahore, Pakistan for Tehran tomorrow morning (Wednesday, November 30) and will arrive at Imam Khomeini Airport from Dubai at around 17:00
