Semifinalist Faces for the Second Year

Russia’s Oleg Stoyanovskiy/Artem Yarzutkin and Poland’s Piotr Kantor/Bartosz Losiak scored another opportunity for a podium finish at Kish Island after their straight-set wins in the quarterfinals of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Kish Island 3-Star on Friday.
The Russian pair trounced Belgium’s Dries Koekelkoren/Tom Van Walle 2-1 (21-17, 18-21, 15-8), while the Polish duo dominated Australia’s Cole Durant/Zachery Schubert 2-0 (21-16, 21-7).

Russia’s Nikita Liamin/Viacheslav Krasilnikov defeated compatriots Maxim Sivolap/Igor Velichko 2-1 (26-24, 17-21, 15-10), while Germany’s Lorenz Schumann/Julius Thole outplayed their compatriots Markus Bockermann/Lars Fluggen 2-1 (21-19, 12-21, 15-12).

The semifinals will start at 11.00 local time on Saturday, featuring Schumann/Thole and Liamin/Krasilnikov in the first match, followed by the showdown between last year’s second and third placers Stoyanovskiy/Yarzutkin and Kantor/Losiak in the second match at 12.00.
