Local Referees Set to Play Key Role in Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship
In a recent statement, Mohammad Shahmiri, head of the Referees Committee for the 26th Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship, announced that approximately 30 referees from Yazd and neighboring provinces will assist in officiating the matches. He expressed his satisfaction with their preparedness.
According to the Volleyball Federation’s communications department, Shahmiri spoke following a meeting held this morning (Saturday, September 8) at the competition court. He noted that, following the regulations of the Asian Volleyball Confederation and FIVB, a refereeing clinic was conducted with the participation of eight international referees alongside national and local officials from Yazd.
“The meeting was highly successful, as the referees demonstrated excellent readiness,” Shahmiri remarked. “I believe we will have a strong team of referees for this competition.” When asked about the qualifications of local referees for major events, he highlighted the significant potential within the provinces. “There is a wealth of talent among our local referees, many of whom are internationally recognized. They possess a strong enthusiasm for their roles and approach their work with great passion, which undoubtedly enhances the overall quality of officiating,” he concluded.
