Sirjan & Sepahan Squeeze into Semifinals

Tehran, Iran, February 25, 2021 – Sirjan Foulad and Sepahan Foulad squeeze into semifinals of men’s super league of Iran after gaining two consecutive wins in the playoff round.

In the opening match of the day, Sepahan Fould let a one-set lead slip to Varamin Shahrdari before eventually prevailing 26-28, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18 at Volleyball Federation Hall. Kiavash Heidari was top scorer with 32 points for Sepahan Foulad.

In the second match, Sirjan made a clean sweep victory over Saipa 25-19, 25-22, 25-16 to be the second semifinalist. Saber Kazemi of Sirjan with 27 points named the best scorer of the match.

The President of Iran Volleyball Federation, Dr. Mohammad Reza Davarzani watched the match onsite.

Sirjan Fould and Sepahan Fould should meet each other in the semifinal twice on March 5 and 7. The format of the semifinal is like playoff. Both teams will play twice against each other and the winners of both matches will get into the final round. If the number of wins are equal, the third match will decide the finalist.
