Iran 2 national beach volleyball team advanced to the elimination stage after defeating the strong opponent of Thailand 1

The third and last day of the group stage of the Asian Men’s Beach Volleyball Championship will be followed today (Wednesday, November 16) with thirteen matches on two beach courts in Bandar Abbas city

Iran 2 (Bahman SALEMI – Alireza AGHAJANI) from Group G of the preliminary stage and from 14:00 on main court , they faced Thailand 1 (Surin JONGKLANG – Banlue NAKPRAKHONG)

The national team of our country, whose promotion to the elimination stage was already established, faced Thailand in this match to secure the top spot and achieved this goal by defeating the opponent 2-1

The Iranian team lost 21-18 in the first set, but defeated Thailand in the second and third sets with 21-19 and 15-7 points and advanced to the next stage with three consecutive wins and 6 points as the leading team of Group G

Bahman Salemi, an experienced national player of Iran, was the target of the Thais in this match and endured a lot of pressure during the matches. Aghajani service and defenses and good receptions were the most important reasons for the victory of the Iranian team in this difficult match

This match was a life and death sentence for Thailand, and in the end, it failed to qualify for the elimination stage

In another simultaneous match, the teams of China 3 (Zhuoxin LI – Tao XUE) and Hong Kong 1 (Puilam  WONG – Kifung LAM) from this group also met and the Chinese won 2-0 with scores of 21-13 and 21-13

With this result, the Chinese team three with two wins and five points as the second team went to the round of 18 and Thailand 1 and Hong Kong 1 were eliminated from the tournament
