The First Victory for Al-Rayyan
Al Rayyan of Qatar Secures First Victory in Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship
According to the communications department of the Volleyball Federation, the second day of the championship continued today (Monday, September 9) with four matches taking place at the 6,000-seat Shahediyeh Hall in Yazd.
Al Rayyan Sports Club (Qatar) faced Kam Air (Afghanistan) in the second match of the day, both teams having lost their opening games. The match commenced at 2 PM, with Al Rayyan emerging victorious with a score of 3-1, with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-16, and 25-19.
The first set concluded in favor of Al Rayyan at 25-16. In the second set, the less experienced team led by Hamid Movahedi put up a strong fight against Al Rayyan, narrowly winning the set 25-23. However, Al Rayyan regained control in the third set, winning decisively 25-16 to lead 2-1 in sets. In the fourth set, Al Rayyan defeated the Afghan team 25-19, securing a 3-1 victory overall.
Iranian referees Alireza Gharib and Ebrahim Firouzi officiated the match as first and second referees, respectively.
In the third match of the day, Shahdab Yazd (Iran) will face Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan) at 5 PM in Shahediyeh Hall.
