The hard work of Korea paid off in the fifth setIndonesia was unable to make it to the top six teams
Korea’s national volleyball team defeated Indonesia in a close match and five sets in the elimination stage of the 22nd round of the 2023 Asian Men’s Championship.
The first match of the elimination round of the 22nd Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship 2023 was held in the Ghadir Hall with a capacity of 6,000 people.
In the first set of this match, the two teams were equal in points, but in the end, the Korean team could increase its distance in points and finished the first set with a decisive result of 25-16.
In the second set of eight points, the Korean team increased its points gap with Indonesia to four points with a logical game. Still, Indonesia continued to put pressure on Korea with more focus, and the result was 19-15 in their favor.
In the rest of the set, Indonesia, in addition to maintaining its points gap, increased this gap and finished the second set with a result of 25-19.
The third set started with Korea scoring points from Indonesia, and then we saw the match between the two sides until the 18th point. Finally, Indonesia appeared more successful and ended the match with the result of 25-22 in the third set.
The fourth set of the match began with the superiority of the Korean players and their appearance with few mistakes. The Koreans increased their points gap with the opponent to 7 in the 15th point, and finally, by gradually increasing the points gap and maintaining a six-point gap at the end of the set, they won and the result to the fifth set.
The fifth set of this close and breathtaking competition was followed and ended with the result of 16:14 in favor of Korea, so this team is on its way to the top 6 teams.
With this victory, Korea will face the winner of the match between China and India in the second elimination round.
The first referee of this match was Vahid Pourkashian from Afghanistan, and the second was Yang Jinghua from Chinese Taipei.
One of the notable points of this match, considering the possibility of the Iranian national team facing one of the two teams, was the presence of coach Alireza Tolo Kian and analyst Amin Aliakbari at the venue of the match.
On the other hand, despite the low number of spectators, we witnessed the polarization of the hall and cheering for the Korean team from the women’s platform and Indonesia from the men’s platform.
