The First Match Is Part of This Process
The head coach of Sporting Club’s volleyball team stated, “We are not in peak condition yet as we have just started our training, but the first match is part of this process.”
According to the Volleyball Federation’s communications department, the 26th Men’s Asian Club Championship will kick off tomorrow (Sunday, September 9) in Yazd.
Taner Atik, head coach of Sporting Club (Kuwait), expressed his excitement for the upcoming matches, saying, “Although the competition has not yet begun, we are thrilled to get started.”
He noted that this tournament marks his first experience in the Asian Club Volleyball Championship, having previously participated in the Challenge Cup and Champions League. “I am very happy to be here with my players. Currently, we are not fully prepared as we have just begun our training sessions, but we will definitely strive to showcase our best performance in this competition.”
Regarding the hosting arrangements, Atik emphasized, “So far, everything in Yazd—such as hotels, transportation, and the overall conditions—has been good, and we have encountered no issues.”
Discussing the goals for Kuwait’s representative in the championship, he said, “Our aim is to deliver our best game. As I mentioned earlier, we have just started our preparations, and the first match is part of that process. We will face teams from Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and Shahdab, which means we are in the toughest group due to the strength of our opponents.”
On the prospect of competing against Shahdab in front of a large crowd, he added, “I believe my players and I are quite accustomed to playing in front of home fans. Our focus will be on delivering a strong performance while also enjoying the competition.”
The Sporting Club (Kuwait) will face Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan) in their opening match of the 26th Men’s Asian Club Volleyball Championship tomorrow at 11 AM.
