The Moradi and the Davarzani have gone to the FIVB.

The Acting President of the Volleyball Federation, accompanied by an Iranian member of the Board of Directors of the World Federation, travelled to Lausanne to participate in the League of Nations Council meeting.

The FIVB is pleased to announce that the 2024 Nation League Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16. The Federation’s headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, will host this significant event. Esteemed stakeholders are cordially invited to attend this meeting and participate in the council’s deliberations. This meeting is expected to result in productive conversations and meaningful outcomes. We look forward to welcoming all attendees and facilitating an engaging and informative discussion.

On Monday, January 15, Dr. Vahid Moradi, Acting President of the Volleyball Federation, and Dr. Mohammad Reza Davarzani, the Iranian representative of the board of directors of the World Federation, departed for Lausanne to participate in a meeting. The purpose of their attendance was not disclosed.

Moradi is attending two critical programs in Lausanne. The first is the meeting of the Nations League Council, and the second is a meeting with officials of the World Volleyball Federation. Both programs aim to develop solutions for global hosting despite financial sanctions. Additionally, Moradi will be providing refereeing services during the visit.

At the forthcoming 2024 Nations League Council meeting, the competition format will be reconsidered alongside a review of the proposals and conditions submitted by the host nations. Also, the issues associated with the competition will be talked about in light of the imminent 2024 Olympics. This high-level meeting will serve as a platform for countries to present their proposals and discuss pertinent issues related to the Nations League. The dialogue at the conference will be critical in ensuring that the Nations League competition runs smoothly and efficiently.

It is essential to highlight that the 2024 Volleyball Nations League is the ultimate platform for our national volleyball team and other participating countries to secure a spot in the Paris Olympics. Upon conclusion of the qualifying phase of the tournament, the top five teams will be awarded licenses to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games based on their respective rankings.
